I have wanted to try this recipe for about a million years...give or take. I'm going to put it on my menu plan this week, I think my girls would love it. Thanks for the post and I'll let you know how it goes over!

I grew up on these only my mom made them with stewed tomatoes. Yummy!
Do you think this would work with brown rice? I don't buy white rice anymore...my mom made this with tomato soup so I'm excited to see a recipe without buying processed soup.
This is in the crockpot right now, can't wait to try it tonight. I found this forum, because I was specifically looking for a crockpot porcupine recipe. The only change I made is to use a clove of fresh garlic instead of garlic powder, since I didn't have any, and I have several cloves of fresh grown garlic in my kitchen.
Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef or turkey 1/3 cup uncooked long-grain brown rice 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon seasoned salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black 1/4 cup onion powder 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 15 oz can tomato sauce
Preparation: Mix ground beef, rice, 1/4 cup water and seasonings. With hands, shape into small meatballs transfer to crock pot. Add tomato sauce, remaining water and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours. Serves 4.
Is it really 1/4 CUP of onion powder? Or do you mean tsp??
thanks!

I looked up some other porcupine meatball recipes and it should be 1/4 tsp of onion powder - not cup.
